“The best thing you can do for your own happiness level is to engage in the job that you do. Ask questions, think strategically, and befriend co-workers. These will all help you in your career path, but, perhaps more importantly, they will help you enjoy the place you spend 8 hours a day. And enjoying where you spend the majority of your day can make your whole life better.”

“Nobody can avoid falling in love. They might want to deny it, but friendship is probably the most common form of love.”
—Stieg Larsson (The Girl Who kicked The Hornet’s Nest)
“We need, in love, to practice only this: letting each other go. For holding on comes easily; we do not need to learn it.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke (via laceofpearls)
So. It’s been two months. Huh. Things have changed.
“What I want is to be needed. What I need is to be indispensable to somebody. Who I need is somebody that will eat up all my free time, my ego, my attention. Somebody addicted to me. A mutual addiction.”
—Chuck Palahniuk (via light-essence)
“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and — in spite of True Romance magazines — we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely — at least, not all the time — but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
—Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967 (via liquidnight)
The only thing that is important about our relationship is that there is love. And there is.
So all the labels and the words in the world don’t mean anything.
I pay attention to actions, not words. Labels are overrated. It is what it fucking is and I am going to live it.
When I think about it, my gut tells me that he’s not being truthful about his feelings. I am not going to push the envelope because I am going to take what he’s said at face value.. But I know. And that’s the important part.
